- Additional information: This sculpture by the artist Earl W. Bascom shows a rodeo saddle which the artist designed and made in 1922. As a saddlemaker, Earl Bascom first carved the tree of the original saddle and then covered it with leather tanned by his father, who was also a saddle maker and leather worker. This saddle was used by the artist during his rodeo career. The unique design of this saddle was made Earl Bascom internationally known in the rodeo world. The hornless bronc saddle, first designed by Earl Bascom, remains the standard gear at rodeos world-wide. This sculpture replicates in miniature the original of 1922.
